Email Marketing Made Easy

Add Contacts

To send a newsletter to people, you must have a list of contacts. You can add a small number of contacts manually, one by one, or you can import a larger number of contacts from an external file.

When logging into your ekmResponse account, simply click on the "Contacts" tab on the left hand menu and select "My Contacts". You will then be presented with a button:

To create a new group of contacts, click the "Create Group" button on the right-hand area of the page. You will then be prompted to enter a name for this group of users. If you attended an trade show at a particular location and those users submitted you their email addresses, you could call that group of users the name of the trade show for ease of reference for example. Click the "Create Group" button once you have entered the desired group name:

You will then be returned to the "My Contacts" page where your contact group will then be visible:

To add contacts into that group, simply click the contact group and you will then enter its configuration page:

Click the "Add Contacts" button to then begin adding contacts to this group. You will see a page that allows contacts to be added one-by-one, to add existing contacts, import contacts from an external source or from your ekmPowershop should you have an account:

Adding a New Contact
Click the "New" button to add a new single contact on a one-by-one basis. You will then be prompted for the contacts first name, surname and email address. Enter these details and click the "Add Contact" button:

You will then be returned to the contact group page where you will see the entry of the new contact:

If you click "Add Contacts" again, you can then add more contacts like this or you can import the data as follows:

Importing Contacts

Simply follow the steps in that page to make sure you are uploading a correctly formatted file; but to import the file click the "Browse..." button and locate the file on your machine.

Once the file has been located and selected, click the "Import Contacts" button to continue. Your contacts within your file will now be added to your ekmResponse facility and be associated to the Contacts Group you are building. Once the import has finished, you will see a confirmation message:

Add Existing Contacts

Clicking the "existing" button will take you to a page that displays contacts who have been added to other contact groups, meaning you can assign those users to this group also. You can either search for that user by typing their name or email address in the search box, or navigate the list until you find the user.
