Specialist Tags
The structure of a newsletter is very important in that it should contain elements from the recipient's name to having an unsubscribe link being available.
The ekmResponse facility contains these elements and more to be inserted into the body of your newsletter at the click of a button.
When creating a new campaign or editing an existing campaign, the body of the newsletter is created in the window as shown below:
You will also notice the toolbar within the editable area containing many buttons available to you that will allow you to create the content body of the newsletter:
A lot of the buttons will be very familiar and allow you to carry out various formatting techniques, but one button in particular:
This button is called the "Insert predefined template content" button and allows you to enter the following newsletter elements/tags:
- Greeting: For example "Dear" followed by the users' first name and surname.
Usage: Dear [FirstName] [LastName] - Firstname: Target user's firstname.
Usage: [FirstName] - Surname: Target user's surname.
Usage: [LastName] - Email Address: Target user's email address.
Usage: [EmailAddress] - Address1: Target user's postal address line 1.
Usage: [Address1] - Address2: Target user's postal address line 2.
Usage: [Address2] - Town/City: Target user's town/city.
Usage: [TownCity] - County/State: Target user's county/state.
Usage: [CountyState] - Country: Target user's country.
Usage: [Country] - Postcode: Target user's postcode.
Usage: [Postcode] - Telephone Number: Target user's telephone number.
Usage: [TelephoneNumber] - Custom Field 1: Target user's custom field 1.
Usage: [Custom1] - Custom Field 2: Target user's custom field 2.
Usage: [Custom2] - Custom Field 3: Target user's custom field 3.
Usage: [Custom3] - Custom Field 4: Target user's custom field 4.
Usage: [Custom4] - Custom Field 5: Target user's custom field 5.
Usage: [Custom5] - View In Browser: A link that allows the user to view the newsletter in a web browser window.
Usage: Difficulty viewing this email? Please <a href="[VIEWINBROWSER]">vew in browser</a>. - Unsubscribe Link: The link that allows the user to unsubscribe from receiving the newsletter.
Usage: Please <a href="[UNSUBSCRIBE]">unsubscribe</a> safely. - Forward to a Friend: A link that recipient's can click on to forward the email to a friend. Their friend will also have the option to subscribe to future mailings while "forwards" will display in the campaign statistics area.
