Anchored Links

When sending out an email campaign you may want to have navigational links which when clicked on, take the user lower down the email automatically to display that section as a quick reference. This is particularly useful if your email is quite long or has various paragraphs in particular that you may want to divert the user to.

When editing your email, you will notice a button in the toolbar that displays an anchor:

To use this function you need to establish where on the page the user will be taken to when they click the link. Scroll down to the section that you want people to be taken to and then place the cursor on the line that will essentially become the first line visible when the link is clicked.

Once you have placed the cursor on the relevant line, click the anchor button in the toolbar:

You will then be displayed a popup that asks what you would like to call your "anchor". Be sure to name the anchor something relevant, as you will be referring to these and all your other anchors later on. Once you have assigned a name, click Insert:

Once the anchor is added, you will see a little icon within your email at that point to indicate that an anchor exists there:

Now the email is ready for the hyperlink to be placed at the top of the email, to be available for people to click on.

Simply highlight the text you want as the clickable link, usually near the top of the email and click the Insert Link button in the toolbar:

In the popup function that appears, click the drop down menu that is entitled Anchors and you will then be able to select the anchor(s) that you have created:

As the menu displays a list of your anchors, it is important to name the anchor appropriately as mentioned earlier so you know which anchor you are linking to.

Once the anchor name has been selected, click the Update button to apply the selection.

You will now see the text appear as a hyperlink which, when your recipient clicks it, will be taken down to the anchor that you linked that piece of text to. You can check this by carrying out a test send of your campaign.
