Dear Friends and Colleagues
This summer APS is sponsoring the Scottish Bikeathon with 'Smidge that Midge' repellent, out dastardly new repellent, with a long-lasting waterproof formulation that makes it perfect for all-weather adventuring in Scotland. The Bikeathon is a 26 mile cycle through 'Monarch of the Glen' territory, all in aid of leukaemia and lymphoma research. It's also 'Midge Central' for us, with much of our research carried out in the area. As an added challenge, we've decided to enter 'Team Smidge' - six brave midge scientists, hoping that the 6 legged beasties won't get their own back on us as we struggle up the hills. The Scottish Bikeathon is back for its 19th year. Each year around 700 riders take part, coming from as far a field as South Africa and even Australia to have fun and take in the stunning sites that the event has to offer.
The event starts and finishes in the beautiful Kingussie, going via Newtonmore, Laggan and Glen Truim. It's suitable for the whole family and everyone gets a t-shirt and a medal for taking part. Click on the link to the right to find out more. |
